Henry Youth Lacrosse’s registration fees represent the per-player share of the association’s costs of running the program. We are actively working to lower the cost of lacrosse participation, and our program is priced lower than other youth lacrosse programs in our area.
For the Spring 2024 Season, registration fees for both our Boys Lacrosse and Girls Lacrosse teams is $185. Parents can take advantage of our Early Bird discount to save $30 per-player by using promo code EARLYBIRD when registering BEFORE December 15th. No discounts will be given after this date (registration will be $185 after December 15th). We request that all players be registered BEFORE January 1st in order to be guaranteed a spot on our teams and to avoid additional registration fees (registration will increase to $195 on January 1st).
We also offer a K-1st Co-Ed “Little Laxers” program. Little Laxers registration is $110 for the Spring 2024 Season. Parents can also take advantage of our Early Bird discount to save $30 per-player by using promo code EARLYBIRD when registering before December 15th. No discounts will be given after this date (registration will be $110 after December 15th). We request that all playes be registered BEFORE January 1st in order to be guaranteed a spot in our Little Laxers program and to avoid additional registration fees (registration will increase to $120 on January 1st).
ADDITIONAL COSTS
Uniforms
Registration Fees do NOT cover uniform costs. We use the same uniforms for both our fall and spring seasons, so returning players with uniforms that still fit do not need to purchase uniforms. Any new players (or players needing a new uniform) will have an opportunity to order one during the registration process. Uniform fees are NOT due until uniforms arrive (typically 2-3 weeks after practice starts). Uniforms will not be distributed to players until uniform fees are paid. Please plan accordingly. Coaches will update parents on uniform status once the order has been placed, so parents can plan ahead for uniform costs.
Players in our “Little Laxers” program do NOT need uniforms.
ALL new players (including Little Laxers) will receive a reversible practice jersey at no additional cost ($20 value). Practice jersey costs are covered by HYL sponsors. Players needing replacement practice jerseys should contact Coach Jeremy at 404.641.9023 or jeremy@henryyouthlax.org. Replacement practice jerseys are $20.
For additional information on HYL’s uniforms, including sizing guides, please visit our Uniforms Page here.
USA Lacrosse Membership
ALL players and coaches are required to have a USA Lacrosse Membership. Membership Fees range from $15-$35 for players (depending on age) and $35-$55 for adults. Membership fees are annual – you only need to purchase or renew a membership once per year. If you participate in another season, camp, clinic, etc., you will not need to pay this fee again until one year from now. NOTE: USA Lacrosse plans to increase Membership Fees for some age groups by $5 in 2024. Please register before January 1st to avoid these fees.
Equipment
Registration does not include lacrosse equipment. Boys and girls in grades 2nd to 8th play “fully equipped” and are required to have the following equipment:
NOTE: Do NOT purchase lacrosse equipment until you have had a chance to talk with your player’s coach. Lacrosse equipment can be expensive and parents of new players regularly purchase the wrong types of equipment for players. Our coaches will help educate you on equipment decisions. We also offer three levels of options to help reduce the cost of equipment for our players (and their parents):
When in doubt, please contact your coach(es) before purchasing equipment. This will save you time and money. If you have any questions regarding equipment, please contact Coach Jeremy at 404.641.9023 or jeremy@henryouthlax.org.
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
If you would like to register your player for Spring Lacrosse before our registration deadline (January 1st), but are not able to pay your registration fees in full by this date, you have two options (both require contacting Jeremy Porter at 404.641.9023 or jeremy@henryyouthlax.org):
Parents requesting “pay later” or “payment plan” options are not eligible for discounts. Parents will be invoiced in accordance with the payment option they agree to. These invoices will include a 3% transaction fee to offset the costs of credit card processing (we do not charge a tranasaction fee on registrations paid at the time of registration). Finally, a 15% late fee will be applied to any outstanding balance NOT paid prior to the 1st scheduled game. We are happy to provide these flexible payment options for families who need them – we simply ask that you honor the agreement and pay these fees as agreed upon.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Parents may cancel their registration for full or partial refunds based on the timeline below:
Any cancellation requests received after uniforms have been ordered may be subject to an additional penalty to cover the cost of the player’s uniform.
IN SUMMARY
Lacrosse can be an expensive sport to get started with, but we are committed to lowering the cost for players/parents as much as possible. We are here to help you through the process – and you’ll learn from our returning players/parents that we’ve been successful helping them to keep the costs under control. Please don’t let the cost of the sport keep you from signing your child up. We are here to help and will figure out a way to make things work. When in doubt, contact Coach Jeremy. Thank you!
Here is some additional information on our Registration Fees for our Spring Lacrosse Teams and our NEW Co-Ed “Little Laxers” Program, which provides lacrosse instruction for beginner and developing players in grades K-1st grade.

Registration fees for our Spring 2024 Co-Ed K-1st “Little Laxers” program are $110. All players should register BEFORE January 1st, 2024 to guarantee their spot in this program and to avoid increased registration fees. Please review the following registration timeline for more details:
IMPORTANT: We need all returning players to register ASAP in order to plan for the season. We need to have as many players as possible registered before January 1st in order to secure our teams’ spots in the league we play in OR to know which teams we need to self-schedule games for (for teams opting out of league play this spring). In addition, we need to plan practice days/times and coach assignments, order uniforms, and complete other pre-season planning. The sooner our players are registered, the sooner we can complete this important pre-season work for the season ahead. Thank you in advance for your support on this request. NOTE: We will NOT offer discounted registration after December 15th. Please plan accordingly to be able to complete the registration process on-time (or ideally, early).
ADDITIONAL DISCOUNTS
ADDITIONAL COSTS FOR NEW PLAYERS
Parents/Guardians registering players for their first season WILL have some additional costs. Please note that we do all we can to limit these additional costs, but also that these costs are typically a “first season” investment that you won’t need to pay in future seasons (should your child choose to continue with lacrosse after this season.
Uniform
Uniforms are NOT included in registration. Registration fees cover our operating expenses for the season, but parents/guardians of NEW players will need to pay for uniforms separately. You will have an opportunity to request a uniform during the registration process (returning players who need a NEW uniform should also request a uniform during registration). Boys uniforms are $72 and Girls uniforms are $55. Parents will be sent payment information once orders are placed. Uniform fees are not due until uniforms arrive (typically 2 weeks after practice begins). HYL does use the same uniforms each season, so parents/guardians will not need to pay for uniforms again unless their player loses their uniform or needs a different size. We do have limited inventory of alternate sizes available for possible size swaps. Please contact your coach to check if alternate sizes are available before requesting a NEW uniform.
USA Lacrosse Membership
All players and coaches are required to have a USA Lacrosse Membership that is valid from mid-January through early-May (the duration of the Spring 2024 Season). USA Lacrosse Memberships are ANNUAL and only need to be paid once per year. Membership fees currently range from $15-$35 per-year depending on the player’s age. Coach Memberships are currently $55 per-year, though Henry Youth Lacrosse reimburses coaches for these fees once they complete their initial training.
While a USA Lacrosse Membership is required for any lacrosse activity offered by any lacrosse program, there are numerous benefits members receive, including an annual subscription to USA Lacrosse Magazine, access to exclusive Members-only online content, supplemental insurance coverage, and various discounts offered to USA Lacrosse Members.
USA Lacrosse Memberships are available for purchase or renewal as part of the registration process. NOTE: USA Lacrosse has announced plans to increase SOME of it’s Membership Fees in 2024. Please complete your registration (including your player’s USA Lacrosse Membership purchase or renewal) before January 1st to delay any possible increase for one more year.
Player Equipment
Equipment is also NOT included. Players are responsible for providing their own equipment, which is different for boys lacrosse and girls lacrosse. Parents/guardians should NOT purchase lacrosse equipment until after the pre-season parent/guardian meeting (which will be scheduled by your child’s coach once registration closes). Purchasing lacrosse equipment can be complicated at first, and parents/guardians commonly purchase the wrong types of equipment the first time around. It’s best to wait until coaches have provided additional information on equipment requirements – and options we may have available to eliminate or reduce equipment expenses (particularly for new players).
There are three options we currently provide to help reduce equipment costs for players and their families:
These are just a few of the options available to help reduce the cost of equipping your player for their first lacrosse season. NOTE: players in our “Little Laxers” program do not need equipment. While coaches will recommend you consider purchasing a lacrosse stick, no equipment is necessary for this program.
We realize the cost of STARTING lacrosse can be significant during your player’s first season, but please don’t let these costs prevent you from registering your child to play. HYL is a non-profit youth sports association – our goal is to provide all children in our community with the opportunity to learn about lacrosse, try the sport, and have a chance to play if they want to. We will do all we can to ensure your player(s) have these opportunities. When in doubt, please reach out to Coach Jeremy to discuss your situation and the options available to help get you and your child(ren) started on their lacrosse journey.
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
We operate HYL at “break-even” (sometimes at a loss – where our expenses exceed the registration fees we collect). That said, we understand that some families may need help balancing all the expenses required to play lacrosse. While we aren’t able to eliminate these costs (beyond the options summarized above), we do provide some flexibility in terms of registering your player(s) and paying for all that is required to get started with lacrosse. We currently provide two possible options for parents/guardians:
If you request and are approved for either the “Pay Later” or “Payment Plan” option, you will not be eligible for any discount(s). Regardless of either payment option selected, all fees will ultimately be due before your player’s first game. Players may not be eligible to play in games if there is an oustanding balance. If you are on a Payment Plan and are in compliance with the terms we agreed upon, your child will be eligible to play.
TRANSACTION FEES
There are NO transaction fees on registration fees paid at the time of registration. Any fees paid via the “Pay Later” or “Payment Plan” option are subject to a 3% transaction fee to offset transaction fees charged to HYL through providing these flexible payment options. Finally, 100% of all fees must be paid by February 1st. Any outstanding balance remaining on February 1st will be assesed a finance charge of 10% on the 1st of each month until the balance is paid (and your player(s)) may not be able to participate in games unti your balance is paid in full.
CANCELLATION FEE
HYL realizes that you may need to withdraw your child from our programs at any point due to unforseen circumstances. We will review and/or consider any refund request on a case-by-case basis, and the HYL leadership team has the right to approve or deny any refund request. HYL’s formal refund policy is as folllows:
HYL reserves the right to make any/all final decisions to approve/deny refund requests, including whether or not to refund fees paid OR to issue a credit that can be applied towards future HYL programs or services.
**Cancellation Policy:**
- Before December 15th: 100% refund
- December 15th to January 1st: 50% refund
- No refunds after January 1st
- Cancellations after uniform orders may incur additional penalties.
**In Summary:**
- We aim to make lacrosse affordable. Reach out for financial assistance options.
- Contact Coach Jeremy for guidance. Don't let costs deter you.
