Lacrosse is "officially" a spring sport, though Henry Youth Lacrosse does offer both fall and spring lacrosse for boys and girls in grades K-8th. Registration for the fall season starts in mid-July and registration for the spring season starts in mid-November. The fall season runs from mid-to-late August through the first week of November. The spring season runs from mid-to-late January through the first week of May. Please refer to the registration page for the specific program you are registering for to get more details about timelines for the season. In addition to our fall and spring seasons, Henry Youth Lacrosse may provide other opportunities for winter or summer play. Please check our website for updates - or better yet, please join our email list to be notified about new programs we may offer throughout the year.
We have a separate registration page for each program we offer. For example, for our fall and spring seasons, there is a separate registration for our Boys 2nd-8th Grade and Girls 2nd-8th Grade Teams. We also have a separate registration page four our introductory Co-Ed program (Little Laxers) for children in grades K-1st. For summer camps or other special programs we may offer, there will also be a separate registration page with specific details or instructions for that particular program.
Once you find the program you are interested in registering for, you can click the registration button to start the process. If you don’t have a USA Lacrosse account, you will be guided through the steps of setting this up. You need to first create your free parent account before you can add your child(ren) to your account. Once that is setup, the registration process is pretty quick – just fill out your information, accept the terms and conditions, enter any applicable promo code, and submit your payment. You will get a confirmation message of your successful registration on-screen and also sent to you via email.
Once you complete the registration process, coaches will be notified. Once registration ends, coaches for each team will reach out directly with additional information on practices, uniforms, equipment, games, etc. If you have any issues or need assistance registering your child, please contact Jeremy Porter at 404.641.9023 or jeremy@henryyouthlax.org.
Registration costs vary by program and sometimes by age/grade, but in general, registration for the fall season is $165 and registration for the spring is $185. Fees for programs like our Co-Ed K-1st "Little Laxers" program are lower, as are fees for our annual summer camp. Registration fees are based on the association's costs for running our programs, which includes field rental fees, league participation fees, officials for games, and team supplies like balls, cones, or paint. For all seasons, we provide discounts for early registrations. Other discounts may be available for new players or players who refer other players to sign up for our programs. Please reach out if you would like information on any discounts that may be available at this time. There are some additional costs, particularly for new players in their first season. In addition to registration, all players are required to have a USA Lacrosse Membership. This annual membership ranges in price from $15 to $35 depending on the age of the player. This is an annual expense, so if your player participates in other HYL programs during the year, you will only need to purchase or renew their membership once per year.
Uniform costs are also separate. We use the same uniforms from season-to-season, so players typically do not need a new uniform each season. New players will obviously need a uniform their first season. Uniforms are $72 for boys and $55 for girls. Finally, equipment is not included in registration. New players will need equipment. We do provide some options to help reduce the costs of equipment for players. Please review our equipment FAQs section for additional information on equipment. In many instances, we are able to equip new players for a small fraction of the cost of purchasing equipment on your own.
